I, personally, haven't done it this way. Depending on your choicec, however, Alistair will either end up being killed by Anora, leaving in anger and becoming a drunk, or he will marry Anora. To keep both alive you gotta harden Alistair, and you can learn about it here: Harden Alistair , you need his personal quest with finding his sister and then tell him everyone cares about themselves.
Then during the Landsmeet you must win against Loghain and not kill him straight away, so that Riordian has the time to burst in with his proposition. Also you must fight Loghain yourself, if you manage to duel him, as Alistair will kill him straight after the duel. Hardened Alistair will see that everyone is selfish and so should be he, and thus he will actually want to be king, no matter what.
